STEPHEN Fry will be among the media “Twitterati” at a high profile industry event in Manchester later this month.

The fan of the Twitter social networking site is part of a star-studded line-up in town for The Media Festival, which takes place at the Palace Hotel between November 18 and 20.

Other speakers include Channel 4’s head of television and content, Kevin Lygo; Andy Anson, chief executive of the 2018 World Cup Bid, Nancy Cruickshank, executive director of digital development at Telegraph Media Group, and Dawn Airey, chair and chief executive of Five.

Festival chairman Peter Bazalgette said: “The Media Festival is an industry-devised, interactive and informative business event for everyone working in the content industries.

“It has a twin-track conference programme at its heart and a raft of learning, networking and inspiration opportunities around it including exhibition, technology, a practical media business MOT, a glitzy gala opening, an awards feature, multiple workshops, genuine face time with media experts and enhanced networking features.”
