The company, which operates 26 vehicles in the city centre, is looking to double the size of its fleet and expand into Didsbury, Withington and Chorlton over the next 12 months.
City Car Club gained a foothold in Manchester earlier this year when it bought rival WhizzGo. It rents cars by the hour and has seen membership surge during the recession.
Around 50 people a month have joined in Manchester this year, taking membership in the city from 630 to over 1,000.
The company's chief executive James Finlayson said today: "Manchester is currently one of the fastest-growing areas in England for car clubs."
