CONSTRUCTION company Russells has won an £800,000 contract for the refurbishment of a warehouse, transport and logistics hub in Manchester.

The team from Russells Construction, based in Trafford Park, has commenced a three-month project for AKW Group.

The scheme involves the refurbishment of AKW's 78,000 sq ft warehouse and contract packing facility - both in Trafford Park - in order to support AKW Group's expansion plans.

AKW Group founder and chairman Tony Worthington said: "We are in need of greater capacity for our storage and packaging operations." His group has three sites in all across Trafford Park, and employs over 220 staff.

Russells' other current projects include a Holiday Inn in Manchester, a retail park in Hull and an office complex in Trafford.
