Whatever the case, Cuckoo Design is celebrating having created a new logo for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salford.
Cuckoo was asked to create a modern logo for the diocese to coincide with the opening of its new Cathedral Centre on Ford Street in Salford.
The centre will provide a home for all administrative and educational services that the diocese offers and provide space for conferences and training events.
The logo will be used across a new stationery set to complement the opening of the centre, as well as appearing on signage and future published materials.
Prior to the work with Cuckoo, the diocese did not have a formal logo.
The Tudor rose, a well-known symbol of Lancashire, is at the heart of the logo, framed by a shield.
A mosaic of bees symbolises Manchester and Salford's history as a centre of industry during the 19th century.
Simple lines, active colour and a classic typographic style strike a balance between traditional images of the church and its ongoing support and work in the community.
Father Anthony Kay, project manager, said: "The area around the Cathedral, and in particular the new Cathedral Centre, has undergone a significant refurbishment to bring together our offices in one home.
"When it came to choosing a creative partner, Cuckoo Design was an obvious choice, as the agency is not only a member of our local community but their experience in working with charities and the voluntary sector is immense."
