A MANCHESTER University professor is part of a team, including Formula One racing bosses, which is behind a drive to increase business with Brazil.

Prof Paul Hogg will join forces with Williams F1's Patrick Head and Nick Fry of Brawn GP on a trade mission to Sao Paulo next month.

They will meet with more than 50 key players from the automotive, construction equipment and aerospace industries to showcase UK expertise. Prof Hogg, of the university's School of Materials, said: " "The timing is perfect to create new business relations that will serve us well in the coming years."

The showcase will reflect manufacturing processes that target carbon reduction.

Hosted by UK Trade and Investment on October 15, it coincides with the Brazilian Grand Prix.
