The Bolton agency beat off competition from two rivals to develop and create a central online hub for digital businesses and freelancers across the town.
Appointed by the Bury Partnership and Bury council, Fudge will develop the Digital Bury website to act as a central point of information for the growing number of businesses in the digital sector.
There are currently 870 digital businesses in the borough, including digital PR and web teams, and it is expected that this number will rise rapidly as Bury is transformed through regeneration and redevelopment programmes which will be completed in 2010.
The Digital Bury site will include regularly updated news, events, jobs and opportunities, a showcase section and an online directory of digital businesses.
It will feature a publicly visible front-end, and a complex "back-end system" which will act as the site's engine room.
Tony Tickle, representing the Bury Partnership, said: "We are in no doubt that Fudge was the right agency for this job, despite the three-way pitch being very competitive.
"The team was able to clearly demonstrate its technological and design expertise, but specifically their track record and empathy for working with the public sector."
David Eccles, managing director at Fudge, said: "After producing sites for CREATIVETimes and the North Staffordshire Creative Industries, Fudge is ideally suited and continues to consolidate its specialist expertise for sector specific support organisations."
Digital Bury is due to launch in October.
