AN Oldham security company is looking to expand across the UK by offering 100 franchises to investors.

Royle Security specialises in protecting homes and businesses and supplies alarms, CCTV, security lighting, entry systems and other equipment from its base in Springhead.

It was established in 1997 and was taken over by Phil Allingan in March 2008.

Managing director Phil said: "Since taking over, turnover has doubled but I have found that most customers prefer to deal with a locally-based company when looking to buy our product.

"This has restricted our growth outside Greater Manchester and I have therefore been investigating a number of ways of growing our business into a national operation.

"Franchising seems absolutely perfect for our product and industry."

Each franchisee will be given a patch of 50,000 households and will be provided with head office back-up including accounts, invoicing and a business development manager.

Royle currently employs 12 staff and expects to recruit up to eight more to run the franchise arm.
