easyJet is introducing winter routes to Copenhagen, Munich and Marrakech, while Jet2.com is to add a second weekly flight to Tel Aviv to cope with customer demand.
easyJet's expansion, with a total of 13 new flights a week, follows its decision to base a new aircraft at the airport.
It said leisure and business travellers would welcome the launch of services to Copenhagen and Munich, while Marrakech, in Morocco, was a year-round sunshine destination. Tickets for the new flights go on sale this week.
Earlier this year, easyJet said it would begin flights from Manchester to Corfu, Athens, Dalaman in Turkey and Bastia in Corsica.
Andrew Cornish, managing director, Manchester Airport, said: "In these difficult times, it's fantastic to see easyJet continuing to grow from Manchester."
Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com, said: "We always listen closely to our customers and the feedback that we have received from our Tel Aviv passengers is that they want even more choice when travelling at key times. We have therefore responded by increasing our frequency. If demand allows, we will look to increase the service on a permanent basis."

Remember, we still don't have any long haul flights from Manchester to Australia, Hong Kong, China, Bangkok or India despite having large communities from these countries across the north of England. Nor do we have any scheduled flights to Canada or the West Coast of the US. They must be a priority.

Totally agree with your comments.
The last thing I want to do is to travel on business or holiday through Heathrow.
I would like to see the management of Manchester Airport fighting to bring more long-hail flights to Manchester.
