Guides show the way

Guides of the 2nd Hale group raised over £270 for St Ann's Hospice
AN entrepreneurial group of girl guides from Cheshire claim they are worthy of a place on Sir Alan Sugar's TV show The Apprentice.

The five patrols at the 2nd Hale Guides were each given £10 to invest in money-making ideas, in aid of Cheadle-based St Ann's Hospice, which helps more than 3,000 patients each year.

Their enterprising ideas and hard work have paid dividends … their initial £50 has turned into £271.13.

The girls achieved this by running a series of small businesses for an evening, selling everything from spring bulbs to book marks and cakes to key rings.

With collections as well, St Ann's Hospice has received a cheque for £328.04.
