David Merrell, 32, was previously a brand design manager at Martin Yaffe International, where he won awards at The Practical Pre-School Awards and The Right Start Best Toy Awards for the development of the innovative Odd Bodz toy brand.
He will now work on behalf of a range of clients at the Altrincham agency, including College of Law, pro-manchester and Character World.
"I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and putting my ideas into practice," he said. "My creative experience will be put to good use as RMS has a diverse range of clients."
RMS PR chief Ruth Shearn added: "David is a talented designer and a real asset to the RMS PR team.
"His enthusiasm for design and the way he approaches his work is a major turn on for our clients.
"I like his entrepreneurial drive and it's that which attracted him to our team.
"He knows he's at the crest of a wave in the development of our studio.
"I want our studio to win major awards for its work and he's equally ambitious."
