Hilton on a high

THE official start of work on the '155m 47-storey glass Hilton Tower - set to be the highest living space in the UK - begins this week with a special ground-breaking ceremony.

This will be the third tower built by Liverpool-based developers the Beetham Organisation in as many years and will include 6,506 sq m of office space and a 21,375-sq m five-star Hilton Hotel.


'Low morale'

A REPORT from the British Council for Offices and property consultancy Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker has highlighted serious staff shortages and falling morale in local government planning departments and an increasingly strained relationship between public and private sectors.


Salmonstart

NORTH west-based Hargreaves Developments has handed over the first of its completed units at Salmon Fields business village in Royton, Oldham, to local firm Utility Masters. The company will occupy 150 sq m. There will be 20 other similar-sized units on the site.


Helen joins

NAI Fuller Peiser has appointed Helen Seymour as the newest member of its Manchester team. She joins from local developers the Langree Group. Her appointment will strengthen the expanding agency and development department.
