International Timber says the addition of a German machine to make bespoke mouldings will boost speed and efficiency at its plant.
The company, established 80 years ago, supplies furniture manufacturers and builders with a range of products, including flooring and decking.
It employs 100 people at its 7.5-acre headquarters and has six other UK sites, including ones at Colchester, Newport and Aberdeen.
Production manager Mike Scully said the Weinig Powermat 2000 machine has enabled International Timber to supply bespoke goods within five days, halving previous delivery times.
He added that the company was looking to increase its staff numbers and would continue to improve and replace existing machinery.
It had previously invested more than £1m over three years.
