£5m boost for Dalton Nuclear Institute

BRITISH Nuclear Fuels has made a major financial contribution to help with the development of Manchester University's world-class nuclear department.

The Dalton Nuclear Institute will use the £5m to expand and develop its research programme and train the next generation of nuclear scientists.

Michael Parker, group chief executive of BNFL, said: "For over 35 years BNFL has been at the heart of nuclear education and research, particularly in the north west.

"I am therefore delighted that we can provide this endowment to Manchester's University's internationally renowned Dalton Nuclear Institute to support the nuclear scientists of the future."
