THE senior north west partner at accountancy giant PricewaterhouseCoopers is to retire after seven years in the post and almost two decades with the firm.

David McKeith, 56, leads more than 850 staff across Manchester and Liverpool. He will be succeeded in January by Nick Boden.

Mr McKeith isone of the region's best-known business leaders in recent years.

He is president of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, which he has steered through troubled waters following revelations that chief executive Angie Robinson had an affair with the then Chief Constable of Greater Manchester, Michael Todd.
