AFTER a decade's service in the Forces, Russell Williams is cleaning up with his Merry Maids venture, a domestic cleaning company.

The business has just moved into new premises in its hometown of Rawtenstall, at the Kingfisher Business Centre.

Russell, a former RAF aircraft engineer, who employs five staff said: "We are domestic cleaners that take on one-off cleaning jobs right through to weekly contracts.

"After serving in the forces I was looking for something completely different. You can't get more different than swapping jet fighters for vacuum cleaners!"

Russell has leased an office at the centre, owned by Rossendale developers B&E Boys, to manage the day-to-day requirements of his thriving business.

"I chose the Kingfisher centre after looking around at other sites. This was ideal in terms of size, rental costs and location," said Russell.

"It also creates an excellent impression for visitors and new customers when they telephone to make inquiries."
