Where is your favourite holiday destination? The Seychelles

Where is your favourite restaurant or bar, and why? The Masons Arms, at Cartmell Fell in the Lake District. It's got an amazing range of real ales, the food is great and you can stay there. The setting is fantastic, too.

What is your biggest success? I think having a really good strategic understanding of the water industry and using it to have a significant influence on the sector in the north west over the next 10 to 20 years.

What is your greatest mistake? I suppose not working abroad - I love travelling.

If you were stranded on a desert island, which famous person, living or dead, would you take with you and why? Carol Vorderman - we were at university at the same time and I didn't get to know her.
