CareConcepts' extension will create day care and assessment centres and 12 respite places at Marion Lauder House, its existing property in Wythenshawe. The scheme is due to be completed in April next year.
CareConcepts, which has its headquarters in Cheadle Hulme, provides services to residents across south Manchester, including help to enable people to remain in their own homes.
Managing director Martin Clark said: "When the expanded facility opens, the new services that we can offer will provide much-needed support to carers and people with dementia."
Funding has been provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland's healthcare team.
Stockport-based IGL has been appointed to design and manage the project and Armitage Construction, of Bredbury, to build the extension. Tweet

Any input of funding into the sector can only be welcomed. If you have experience of any care homes in the Manchester area, feel free to write a review of them at the WhereforCare website.
You may wish to consider looking at the following links to the damning CQC inspection - my mother was a victim. I wouldn't incarcerate a dog in this place
