Evolution Aqua has signed a deal to become the sole European distributor for the Sequence brand of pumps, which are made by MDM of Colorado and are regarded as one of the most efficient of their type on the market in terms of running costs and electricity consumption.
They can be used in fresh- water and saltwater ponds and in swimming pools.
Bosses of Evolution hope to sell 10,000 pumps a year for up to £390 each.
It received a £165,000 funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland's commercial banking team in Manchester to secure the contract after an approach from MDM.
Evolution, established in 2001, employs 17 people. Its core business is manufacturing and distributing filtration systems to more than 60 countries.
Director Mike Shaw said: "MDM were looking for a European partner that had the technical expertise to support their products, and we certainly have this capability."
RBS business development director Dave Meredith said: "The fact that MDM approached Evolution Aqua to become their sole European partner demonstrates just how well regarded the company is.
"I am confident this partnership will be a great success and will further enhance Evolution Aqua's product offering and reputation."
