But this isn't any old figurine.
It's a five-foot high antique that David Walters bought on a recent visit to the Indian capital.
And - when it eventually arrives - it will take pride of place in the foyer of creative marketing group Photolink, which David founded in Ardwick Green 33 years ago.
The purchase was a symbolic gesture intended to mark the beginning of Photolink's new relationship with India.
And earlier today, the company's new photographic studios in Mumbai opened for business for the first time."The main reason I bought the figurine - which is meant to bring good luck - is because it marks the start of Photolink's presence in India," explains David.
"So far, we've invested £300,000 in the new studios and now employ 16 staff there.
Prudent
"The early indications are that our move into India will be prudent - and I'm hopeful that we will be able to generate sales of £1m there in the first year.
"Over the past year, I must have spent around 10 weeks in India researching business opportunities, meeting potential clients and looking for premises which are suitable for a studio. Our three new photographic studios in Mumbai - each of which is equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment - take up a total of 20,000 sq ft of space.
"I'm confident that it's a very good move for Photolink as the early indications are that companies in India are in desperate need of the services we offer.
"We are already engaged in projects such as producing India's first home shopping catalogue for Argos."
A graduate in fine art from Salford University, David initially embarked on a career as a fashion photographer before realising that there was massive potential for a commercial photographic studio in Manchester.
This has flourished ever since, and today Photolink has four major fashion studios and a still-life studio, which are constantly used by some of the world's leading fashion brands. Photolink continues to design glossy catalogues for leading home shopping companies as well as football magazines for Manchester United and Chelsea - among others. It also has a department which specialises in events management and PR.
"When I started this business 33 years ago, I never dreamt that it would one day have an Indian division," said David. "The success is testament to the dedication, hard work and talent of the staff.
"And I also think that it is testament to their creativity - which I think is one of the cornerstones on which Photolink is founded. My intention now is to develop this creative flair in India."
