The duo have acquired Mobberley Golf Club, near Knutsford and have recruited Mike Sheehan to run it - he was previously managing director of Shropshire's Hawkstone Park complex, which includes three courses and a 66-bed hotel.
Mr Webb is best-known as the founder of Wilmslow's Freedom Finance Group, while Mr Hobson is a former chief executive of Manchester surveying business ep2.
They have bought Mobberley Golf Club through their venture Ollerton Leisure.
Mobberley is a nine-hole, par 67 course with a shop and resident professional.
Mr Hobson said: "The club is already recognised and regarded for its `pay as you play' facility and, with the introduction of new membership packages, we feel we have a sound business platform and golf offering to really compete in the area."
Mr Sheehan, who is also a director of Mere Golf & Country Club in Cheshire, said he will look to increase family membership at Mobberley and encourage more junior golfers.
