THE Turnberry golf resort due to host next year's Open Championship is to be sold to a Dubai sovereign wealth fund for £55m.

The Scottish venue has staged three Opens, including 1977's famous "Duel in the Sun" between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson.

Leisurecorp, a subsidiary of the Dubai World fund, is buying the Ayrshire venue from Starwood. Tweet
