The deal with the administrators of the stricken retailer will add more than £1.5m to the Manchester company's contracts business, Whitaker Services.
Two staff have transferred from Ponden's Yorkshire base to Whitaker's Rochdale headquarters.
Whitaker Services - which supplies bedding to the National Health Service, the Ministry of Defence and other government agencies - accounts for some £10m of the Vision Group's £25m annual turnover.
The Ponden deal opens up a number of new markets to the acquisition-hungry company which has its headquarters on Hilton Street, near Piccadilly, as well as offices in Egypt, Pakistan and China.
Laurie Thomas, 46, managing director of privately-owned Vision, said: "We're pleased with the Ponden deal, it's a good strategic fit with what we're already doing at Whitakers.
"Its client base opens up new markets in the private healthcare and care home sector to us.
"We're really looking to push on and grow by acquisition this year."
Mr Thomas, who has been with Vision for seven years, believes there will be plenty of acquisition opportunities in the coming months.
"The marketplace has been volatile for a number of years, there have been many restructurings, buy-outs and so on.
"We're definitely looking to grow by acquisition as well as by market penetration.
"I believe our overseas sourcing strat-egy puts us in a good position to move forward."
Vision employs 77 people across its businesses worldwide. As well as Whitaker Services, it operates Reebitex Fabrics, which supplies curtains to public sector organisations, including the Prison Service, and C&C Bed And Bath, which designs, sources and supplies sheets, duvets and pillows for many retail chains.
