CHEMIST shop boss Paul Barry has won a Co-op branch manager of the year award. Paul, who is based at The Co-operative Pharmacy on Palatine Road, Northenden, was praised for his leadership and developmental skills, and his efforts to build relationships with surgeries and clinics.

NIK Basran, 27, has succeeded his father Lak as managing director of the family's Authentic Food Company which is racing towards turnover of £30m. The firm operates from Manchester and Stockport and supplies ethnic dishes.

MARK James, of Knutsford, won a trip to Morocco, for being one of the top distributors for home shopping business Kleeneze.

HOUSEBUILDER Redrow has won an accolade for its Debut range of starter homes at Buckshaw Village, near Chorley. Redrow picked up the `best initiative to aid first time buyers and key workers' prize at the Housebuilding Innovation Awards in London.
