BAE talks with US Army

DEFENCE BAE Systems has entered exclusive talks with the US Department of Defense about supplying 10,000 medium-weight military trucks.

The department is looking for vehicles to protect troops in Iraq and Afghanistan from threats such as roadside bombs.

The deal could be worth £2bn and follows BAE's recent £2bn acquisition of US-based Armor Holdings, which makes wheeled military vehicles.
