Pupils from Radclyffe Primary School in Salford visited Dutch developer HBG's Metro office scheme at Salford Quays to collect prizes for their imaginative poster designs, which illustrate the hazards and dangers on construction sites.
The 20 pupils (pictured), from the school in Phoebe Street, Salford, were also presented with prizes of £25 book tokens and drawing materials for their winning poster designs by Neil Mort, development manager for HBG, developer and builder of the Metro office scheme, which is on Trafford Road.
The challenge of coming up with a health and safety poster began in April when HBG visited Radclyffe School as part of a campaign to warn children of the dangers of trespassing on construction sites during the summer holidays.
HBG's health and safety adviser, Dave Perks, and project manager Paul Harris visited Radclyffe and talked to 160 pupils aged from three to 11 about the many dangers to be found on construction sites.
When complete later this year the six-storey Metro will provide 72,500 sq ft of office space.
