SOCCERCITY, a Wigan business which runs five-a-side football centres, had a `disappointing' year, as revenues slumped during last summer's World Cup and the second half was beset by operational problems.

Chairman Norman Molyneux announced pre-tax losses of £953,000 for the year to January 31, against £284,000 in 2006.

Turnover grew just one per cent to £2.036m. Soccercity runs centres in Yorkshire and is selling its site in Fareham, on the south coast.
