A DEBATE on the benefits or otherwise of The BBC Move North will take place at the Circle Club, Barton Arcade, Manchester tonight.
Organisers say the discussion will look at at all points of view, possible opportunities and if there is a point to it all. It promises to be a heated affair.
Speakers confirmed to date include Lynne McCadden - managing director of newly merged Media Training North West and North West Vision; Prof Ron Cook, director of the International Media Centre at Salford University, and Stephen Kingston, editor of the Salford Star magazine; and John Merry, leader of Salford city council.
The event starts at 6.30pm, is open to all and will be chaired by independent media consultant Howard Sharrock.
Topics already on the agenda include:
WHY move from London at all, what's the point?
WHY Salford and not Manchester?
WHAT are the business opportunities for north west companies.
WHAT will be the benefits to local communities?
What do you think? Have your say.
