The Duke of Gloucester officially opened Tameside College’s new enterprise and business incubation centre at Ask Developments’ St Petersfield scheme in Ashton under Lyne.

The 10,000 sq ft centre completes the circus area of the St Petersfield masterplan. Designed by Aedas Architects and built by Create Construction, the building covers three floors and provides an enterprise laboratory, incubation space and a café with an outdoor seating area.

*Manpower group Morson has opened a regional office in Preston. The Salford-headquartered group's new office is at Roundhouse Properties’ South Preston Office Village, meaning only two units are now available at the business park.

The new 732 sq ft office will be one of 30 in the UK. Nick Kos from Bailey Deakin & Hamiltons and Richard Warton from Jones Lang Lasalle were joint agents for Roundhouse Properties.

* Manchester based HOW Planning has secured outline planning approval for a housing scheme in Winsford.  A development of up to 37 homes is planned for the former Richmond Packaging premises on New Road, which falls within the Winsford Waterfront, an area which has been identified for regeneration. The architect on the scheme is Rochdale-based Burr Design Associates.

* North West builder Construction Partnership UK (CPUK) has landed its second major healthcare contract in a matter of weeks, bringing its order book in the sector to almost £7m in the past 18 months.

The Lancashire-based company will build a 14-bed extension to a care home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, for Bupa. The £600,000 project at the Brook View Nursing and Residential Centre for Bupa’s care home division follows hard on the heels of CPUK’s £1.3m contract win for a state-of-the-art community health centre in Rochdale.
