EVERY week we hit the streets of Manchester looking for the city's most stylish women. This week Helen Tither caught up with 25-year-old Gil Lakpour, a store manager who lives in the city centre, to quiz her about her style.

How would you describe your style?

Funky maybe. I can be quite ghetto at times. I like to be as comfortable as possible and go for casual rather than trendy in the day - although I do splash out for a good night out.

Who is your style icon?

I don't think I have one really. I quite like Victoria Beckham's look but I don't think I would be able to pull it off.

Name your favourite shops

Zara, Vicky Martin, Mango. I'm not a Topshop girl - I don't like wearing the same as everyone else.

What's your best ever buy?

A coat I bought in Affleck's Palace. It looked like Vivienne Westwood but it was only é150.

What's your biggest fashion mistake?

A shell suit. I think I had one in every colour.

How much do you spend on clothes each month?

Not much, é50-60.

What piece of clothing can't you live without?

It has to be my jeans.
