`Nip and tuck' Christmas presents are proving increasingly popular according to the Transform Medical Group.

It reports that the number of people buying cosmetic surgery as a gift has increased by 30% this year, with teeth whitening - which recently took the US by storm - top of the non-surgical gift list.

Liposuction (fat reduction) was the favourite surgical gift followed by breast enlargement, rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and finally a facelift.

After teeth whitening in the non-surgical poll came line and wrinkle smoothing, dermal fillers, lip enhancement and microdermabrasion.
