ADDICTED to your GHDs? Getting hot under the collar about the prospect of your hair rising on the beach? Women know all too well the curling effect of the sun on their poker-straight tresses.
Even the most flyaway hair can go frizzy once the sun beats down.
But fear not, it's time to chill out and leave your hair straighteners at home as the hot hair looks are all about the curl factor. Top stylists at Trevor Sorbie's Manchester salon have created the two key looks for day and evening that you can recreate with ease. So go with the flow and follow our low-down to hot holiday hair.
EVENING
TOUSLED. With the tousled look you decide how much body you want to put into the hair and how deconstructed you want it to be. It's a stress-free style that is youthful, carefree and easy to manage. It can be adapted to suit all age groups and hair types - think sexy and untamed. It should be as relaxed as you feel. It's about looking good, chilling out and being released from the pressures of day-to-day life and reaching for the straighteners.
To create this look we applied plenty of Beach Hair product to the wet hair then dried on a low heat and low speed with a diffuser just letting the diffuser do the work and not touching the hair till dry so as not to make it to fluffy. Finish with a final mist of Extreme Gloss.
For this look also try Prep Hair, a non sticky leave in spray to prepare hair for styling. The light formula gives structure to the hair and reduces flyaway strands. Paraben free, allergen free fragrance and includes a UV filter. Another option is Beach Hair, a salt spray designed to give your hair that sexy, windswept look and feel. The lightweight formula gives your hair a gorgeous tousled texture with a matte finish. Paraben free, allergen free fragrance and includes a UV filter. All products are available from Trevor Sorbie, Manchester.
DAY:
IF you've got mid-length or long hair the plait is the way forward but don't pull it as tight as your mother used to do, think loose and lovely.
To create this look, the hair was sprayed with Prep Spray then slicked into a low side ponytail and secured with covered elastic so as not to break the hair. The hair was loosely plaited, then pulled apart for a more dishevelled look and secured at the bottom with more covered elastic.
