Girls being girls, we will share our wardrobes.
All the girls have fantastic figures. My own is not so bad, except for the stubborn `saddle bags' at the top of my thighs and my dumpy knees. They look even worse when I sit down as they spread.
We all go to the gym together four or five times a week, only I have this problem.
One of my friends mentioned `fat injections', while another talked of liposuction. What would you recommend?
A I understand how you feel. It's not as if you have not tried to change the shape of the areas concerned with the usual methods of diet and exercise.
The outer thigh is the most common problem area and most difficult to conceal when wearing shorts.
If you have good elasticity in the skin, you could try liposuction.
It removes the fat with suction.
You will need six weeks to get a good result, 12 weeks to get the best out of the treatment.
As far as I am aware the `fat injection' or Lipostabil is not available in the UK.
It was never passed for use as a cosmetic procedure. The injectable solution was developed for dissolving fat embolism. Some doctors used it for small areas of fat, this was before the ban.
Even if it was available, large areas are not suitable. Stay with the tried and tested systems like liposuction or liposculpture, if you decide to go ahead.
Always check your surgeon's GMC number and qualifications. Ask how many procedures he has performed and ask to speak with a patient of his/hers who has had the same area corrected.
