Brit of good news from Bentley

NOW here's something to lift the gloom hanging over British motor manufacturing.

While bad news from Peugeot and TVR might have dampened the spirits this spring time, the latest luxury model from Crewe-based Bentley should provide a little ray of sunshine.

Officially launched at the New York International Automobile Show this month, the stunning Continential GTC will go on sale later this year.

Convertible

It is the second convertible to grace the current Bentley range, following hot on the heels of the recently-announced Bentley Arnage-derived flagship four-seater convertible.

Designed as a 2+2, the car is capable of 195mph and comes with all the usual Bentley refinements.

And, rather than follow the current trend for folding metal roofs, Bentley has opted to continue the theme of traditional refinement by providing the GTC with a folding cloth roof. Prices will be announced nearer to launch, but expect to pay in excess of é125,000.
