The sporty Abarth Italian marque has come up with an exclusive edition based on Fiat’s cheeky little 500 – the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. Just 152 examples of the 1368cc, 180bhp, 140mph pocket rocket will go on sale in the UK, and the stunning red livery pays homage to Ferrari.

Vauxhall offers lifetime warranty on its cars

Vauxhall is introducing a lifetime warranty on all new cars with immediate effect.
Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty will apply to the first owner of any Vauxhall car registered from August 1 this year. Warranty coverage continues throughout the life of the car until it reaches 100,000 miles.
Duncan Aldred, managing director of Vauxhall Motors said: ‘With the Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty, we are making a strong statement of confidence in the quality of our products and a clear intent to provide the best customer service in the UK.”
The comprehensive new warranty cover includes powertrain, steering system, brake system and electrical equipment throughout the life of the vehicle. To maintain the warranty, owners need to visit a Vauxhall retailer annually for a free vehicle inspection.

Nissan’s X-Trail gets a makeover

Nissan’s faithful off-roader, the X-Trail, gets a makeover in October, with special attention being paid to front-end styling. The front grille, bumper and headlights have been redesigned, using better quality materials, to give the X-Trail a more solid look. Full specification, engine, and pricing details will be released closer to the launch.

These luxuries of modern motoring are not for the purist owners of veteran machines, says a survey by specialist insurer Footman James. But there’s one thing that a fifth of all classic car owners do miss, the firm’s study reveals – the reliability of today’s motors.
