GW Travel, based in Altrincham, Cheshire, started operating the Golden Eagle Trains-Siberian Express in Russia this weekend after a ceremony attended by Prince Michael of Kent.
The first three-day journey is from Moscow to Kazan and Yekaterinburg, with the inaugural 14-night trip from Moscow to Vladivostok starting on Sunday May 6.
Passengers on the full, 14-night trip will travel 5,771 miles and journey in 21 new state-of-the-art carriages which have been built in collaboration with two Russian-based companies.
Travellers will have showers, under-floor heating, air conditioning, TV screens and DVD and CD players.

GW Travel president Tim Littler said: "After seven years of planning with our Russian partners, I am delighted that the Golden Eagle project has come to fruition."
The original trans-Siberian rail route was completed in 1903 and the route used today came into service in 1916.
Stops en route include Novosobirsk, Irkutsk, Lake Baikal and Khabarovsk.
