EVERYONE agrees that Tony Wilson is irreplaceable, so his former employers at BBC Radio Manchester aren't even going to try.

Tony fronted two shows for the station before his death earlier this month.

Now, boss John Ryan tells me that rather than look for a new presenter, they'll extend the shows either side by an hour instead. John says: "Tony's shows were so Tony we couldn't possibly replace them."

The huge poster of Tony, at the Beeb's Oxford Road HQ, is also to be kept up as a tribute.

Meanwhile I hear Tony T-shirts have gone on sale, with £3 from each going to Cancer Research UK.

The shirts, on website teefly.com , cost £16.99.
