All adv tickets now sold out for YGG Final tonight 19 March @ Palace Levenshulme.

Can pay on door upto 8.30pm

Doors 8pm, B#4 adm, first band 8.30pm

After three sell out heats with 18 bands, the final 6 selected are:

The Chase....cross between The Smiths & The Sex Pistols - anything can happen with this band & usually does, watch out for the promo by local film maker Colin Warhurst on the Giant video wall.

The Hustle..Hustle by name, Hustle by nature. Vying for the crown of Manchester's unsung guitar hereos. Think 'The Doves' without the miserable tunes & add on some guitar duelling lunatics & you are halfway there.

El Quinell...New York Garage Rock comes to Stockport! This young full on band know how to Rock & their tunes just stick in your head. Watch out for 'the mouse' it will stay in there for ever.

Gecko...Middletons answer to 'Frans Ferdinand' soaring guitars with full on Manc attitude & City fans to boot, what more could you ask for?

Stonewood...Blues mixed in with a full on Rock sound, Bruce Springstein at its best. Great lyrics coupled with different sounds & styles ranging from alt country to guitar soaring epics, worth the admisssion charge alone.

Adept..North Manchester Rock n Roll hereos cobine a full on stadium rock sound with some very commercial tunes. 'I can't sleep' is just one of the tunes that you won't get out of your head.

Plus club night with Rock DJ David H, expect a combination of The Pogues, Saw Doctors, Stiff little fingers combined with The Darkness et al for one of the final nights of this years Manchester Irish Festival.

If there is still time to get a ticket to see Ian Hunter/ Mick Ralphs (ex Mott the Hoople) at the BeirKeller Piccadilly tonight, then if you love rock please get one. I saw Ian & Mick at Bilston on Tuesday night and it was some gig. Plenty of Ian's solo stuff with a healthy slice of Mott the Hoople numbers, closing with "All the Way from Memphis". Rockin' good stuff. Don't ask why I went to the Midlands when I could have seen the show up here - too complicated!

Whenever 'All About Mason' play in town they create a buzz in the unsigned circuit that's hard to ignore.

As a Manchester-based-band with routes in the North East, 'All About Mason' write beautifully composed songs, with a vibrant yet kick-ass style, which is really attracting the crowds. They are well worth a listen - if not just to even out the number of Mackams and Geordies that flood the area whenever they play!

Showcasing - in what is rapidly becoming a regular slot - in the HMV Unsigned Bands Night at the LATE ROOM, this band need to be seen. What more could you want? (Other than monkeys?)

See 'All About Mason', Friday 27th May at the Late Room, Peter's Street.

You don't often get to see 3 great bands in Manchester for zilch, especially not at such a great venue as the Mint Lounge, so why not get down on tuesday 7th Feb to see THE FOUNTAIN, FULTON'S POINT and LIMOUSINE. Doors 9pm.

Support Live Music - We do it because we love it!

Great to see so many great bands playing in Manchester in February. However I'm really surprised EMERSON are not shown as playing the Late Room on 23rd Feb at 8pm. I've had my ticket for weeks, can't wait to see them, Andy Gower has a fantastic voice better than Paul Weller, don't know why he didn't win the X FACTOR. If you're in M/C thursday don't miss EMERSON!!

Emerson, Mike Collins and Andy Gower are playing academy 3 on June 13th. Their material is absolutely brilliant they are a cut above the rest and a refreshing change from your normal Unsigned Bands, I'm surprised they've not been snapped up by a shrewd record producer, bet it won't be long til they are. See you on 13th folks - CHRIS C, CHESTER
