JANE Gray is a lady with one powerful voice.
The Lisa Riley lookalike took first place in heat five of the Manchester Evening News Search For A Star talent competition at The Willows, Salford, to take first place.
It was the second time Jane has taken part in the contest, but the 22-year-old from Hollinwood, a singer in the pubs and clubs of Oldham and Manchester, never expected to win.
''I never expected it because I was here last year and it's a difficult competition,'' she said.
''I haven't got a nerve in my body. My family was feeling sick for me, but for me it's a pleasure - I love the stage.
''I love singing. I don't do it for the money - it's just to entertain people. If I stick at this all my life I will be happy.''
Jane performed Shirley Bassey's I Who Have Nothing, Faith Hill's There You'll Be from the Pearl Harbor movie soundtrack and a dance version of Don't Cry For Me Argentina.
As a student at Oldham Theatre Workshop, Jane appeared on stage alongside Coronation Street's Suzanne Jones, and You've Been Framed star Lisa Riley - to whom she admits there is more than a slight resemblance.
''If I had a pound for every time people said that, or call out to me ''Mandy'' or ''Dingle'' I would be rich.
