MTV Europe is celebrating the popularity of music websites with a dedicated Web Award.

It will be the newest category at this year's MTV Europe Awards (November 8) and has five nominees; Daft Punk; Depeche Mode; Gorillaz; Limp Bizkit; U2.

The category aims to favour the site with the best screensavers, e-cards and ring tones, as well as recognising the quality of its chat room and exclusive track plays. However, with it being a viewer-vote, chances are people will pick their favourite band.

This knocks Gorillaz's, nominations to four. They are also up for Best Dance Act, Best Group and Best Song.

Like Gorillaz.com, Limpbizkit.com has a family of cartoon characters to play with online.

Daft Punk and Depeche Mode, and U2 have kept with a more traditional but easy accessible option.
