LOVED by celebrities and managers alike - the music industry's favourite event is upon us again.
The MTV Europe Awards will descend on Frankfurt on Thursday hosted by the controversial Ali G (aka Sacha Baron-Cohen).
Giving us a taste of what to expect on the night, Ali said: "I is very honoured to be hosting these awards for MTV which I believe is the bestest channel in the whole world, apart from the Fantasy Channel, Channel X, Granada Men and Motors and anything showing European-strength filth."
Nominations include favourites Eminem, Dido, Craig David, Limp Bizkit and U2. Not forgetting ladies man Robbie Williams, who only managed two nominations this year as best male and best video for Supreme.
The act that is everywhere this year is Damon Albarn's side-project Gorillaz. After snubbing the Mercury Prize, the animated-band is up for six awards including best web site, best group, best song and video for Clint Eastwood.
But Mr Craig David hasn't done too badly either, nominated for best male act, best new act, best R&B act and best UK act.
Meanwhile recent sensations Limp Bizkit and old timers U2 find themselves sharing four categories. Both have been nominated for best group, best album, best rock act and the web award.
Surprise Surprise Hear'Say and all single-status spices have failed to get a nomination between them.
Crazy Town, Daft Punk, Madonna, Shaggy, Janet Jackson and Outkast are nominated for two awards apiece.
Celebrating its eighth year, MTV has clinched an essential live line-up including four-time nominated rock band Limp Bizkit, winner of the Q best band award, Travis, show-stopper Mary J. Blige and heart-throb Craig David.
Others include Depeche Mode, Dido, Jay-Z, Kylie, Rammstein, REM and Destiny's Child.
