Who were: Dropped by major label only for unreleased album to get rave reviews. Now they prepare to have last laugh.
JANE Murphy, singer/guitarist, says: ''We're in a weird situation because initially the album got really good reviews, and we don't think the album's finished, and we don't really want to put it out half-finished. We've got new stuff that's been produced by Ian Broudie, which we're gonna put out as a single next year.
''I don't think anybody really knows what's been going on with us. Everybody kind of knows that something odd happened. The show will be quite intimate and acoustic. We wanted to make it sort of odd, oddly dark. Like that film, Midnight Cowboy, that really odd club that they go to, a louche, loungey type thing.
It's gonna be like a cool and soothing hand on a hot and fevered brow! I think we'll be suited to the surroundings - it's like an antidote. There's going out and getting completely out of your mind and dancing like a maniac - which I wholeheartedly agree with, but there's the little bit after, that's us. The afterglow.''
