Kylie's tributes to Manc Terry

WHEN pop princess Kylie Minogue takes her final bow at her Manchester gigs, there's one man she brings out to share the acclaim with her each night.

For Kylie has been ensuring that acrobatic dancer Terry Kvasnik, originally from Marple, gets some special attention from his home crowd.

At the end of her M.E.N. Arena gigs, Kylie has taken to bringing the bendy 26-year-old out to the front of the stage - and informing the Manchester audience that he's one of their own.

At Friday night's gig, she called Terry out and said: "This guy is from Manchester and he's been representing you everywhere on the tour," before the two shared a big hug.

And on the first night in Manchester, on January 12th, the pop pixie even led the crowds in singing happy birthday to Terry's dad, Frank, who was in the audience.

Not surprisingly, Terry - an expert in martial arts, breakdancing and freestyle acrobatics - feels like a pretty lucky guy to be dancing alongside the Aussie superstar.

He first performed with Kylie on her Fever tour in 2002, and, when asked back for the Homecoming tour, he jumped at the chance.

He tells me: "Kylie is an amazing, beautiful, person to work with. She doesn't have to bring me out on stage at the end like that, but that's the sort of person she is. When I was asked to join the tour I jumped at the chance, and Kylie has such a lot of faith in me that she let me create and choreograph my own work in the show."

Leaps

Terry has been wowing fans with his dance solo both in Australia and in the UK during the tour which sees him "walk" down stairs on his hands and perform impossible-looking leaps and jumps around the set.

He ends his solo by stripping down to a skimpy pair of pants - and then joins Kylie to dance with her on hits including Red Blooded Woman and Slow.

But he admits he's a little embarrassed over his stage outfit. He laughs: "It's a bit embarrassing because I'm not an exhibitionist. I didn't think about it so much until I came home to Manchester and realised all my friends and family would be seeing me like that!"

Kylie has now shaken off her flu - that has struck almost everyone in her crew, including Terry - and he says they're all hoping to end the tour on a high in Manchester tomorrow night.

He says: "Everyone is just so happy to have Kylie back, and to be getting on with the show. We all saw how upset she was when she had to cancel the shows. She wasn't upset for herself, it was for everybody else. So, we're looking forward to ending on a real high."

Terry, who now lives in Rusholme, has set up his own production company.
