The Yorkshire-based band hope to be topping the music charts with their hit World At Your Feet when England head for Germany this summer.
But they are failing to score so far with M.E.N. readers, who have put them near the bottom in a poll.
Thousands of football and music fans have logged on to our website to choose their favourite World Cup anthem.
Topping our poll - with 52 per cent of the votes - is Onwards The Few, by Manchester-based The Reclaimers, which is starting to pick up interest on TV after being played on Sky.
Delighted
Mancunian singer Gavin Jones, who wrote the track, says the concept for the song is based on the Battle of Britain.
After taking an early lead, Salford lads Jimmy and Martin Lawless have fallen back to a 33 per cent score.
The uncle and nephew are behind That's England Alright, a re-worked version of the Auf Wiedersehen Pet theme tune, That's Livin' Alright. Jimmy said: "I'm delighted that so many people have voted for us.
"It's a real song by real football fans and it's perfect for singing with your mates in the pub during the World Cup."
Happy Mondays' Bez is also trying to give Embrace's official FA song a run for its money.
His One Dream is due out at the end of this month but he is so far stuck at just six per cent.
Embrace, meanwhile, have polled only five per cent - but there is still time to register your vote.
Adidas
Sportswear giant Adidas has chosen a song by Chorlton's Jim Noir to head its World Cup advertising campaign.
The musical maverick, who is delighted with Adidas's backing, is hoping his Eanie Meany - with an accompanying video packed full of world football stars - will put real pressure on Embrace in the charts.
But he has so far received only four per cent of M.E.N. readers' votes.
