HOLLYWOOD hearthrob Keanu Reeves made a surprise appearance in Manchester on Monday night when he turned up to watch Joseph Arthur at Night and Day.

New Yorker Arthur, who was the first rock artist to sign to Peter Gabriel's Real World label, is touring in support on his fifth album Our Shadows Will Remain.

Reeves, who was dabbled in music with his own band Dogstar, travelled up from London for the night.

As well as catching Arthur's set Reeves was reportedly delighted to sample some local talent in the shape of Liam Frost, who is said to have recently signed a major deal with Sony.

Keanu was happy to pose for photographs with fans and sign autographs at the bar.
