Led Zeppelin - 'the perfect band'

LED Zeppelin has been voted the nation's ideal supergroup.

Music fans were asked to create their fantasy band, made up of any singers or musicians.

But all the names chosen to line up the perfect band were members of Led Zeppelin.

Robert Plant was named favourite singer, followed by the late Queen star Freddie Mercury and Paul Rodgers from Free.

Jimmy Page was voted number one guitarist followed by Slash from Guns N' Roses and Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore.

John Paul Jones was named top bassist, before the late John Entwistle of The Who in second place.

John Bonham, who died in 1980, was given the title of best drummer beating Canadian star Neil Peart from Rush, and the late Keith Moon of The Who.

Presenter Trevor Dann, of Planet Rock radio, which compiled the poll, said: "This is an amazing result.

"Listeners could have voted for any classic rock artists when creating their fantasy supergroup, but they chose all the members of Led Zeppelin.

"It just goes to show that Led Zeppelin really are the ultimate supergroup."

Robert Plant I reckon is the best as Freddy who was great Borrowed alot from Plants' vocalisms especially in Queens' heyday the 70's. I think Plant set the blueprint for a lot of rock singers.
