TWO singers from two legendary Manchester acts were picked out as the winners of ManchesterOnline's 2004 music poll by hundreds of our users - Morrissey and Mark Owen.
Former Smiths singer
Morrissey capped a knockout year by winning our album of the year poll for his comeback effort You Are The Quarry. Moz edged out competition from former Stone Roses frontman
Ian Brown's latest LP Solarized and decks'n' double bass duo
Fingathing's Big Red Nebula Band.
Meanwhile, ex-Take That star
Mark Owen has scooped the single of the year crown for the second year running. His track Makin' Out only made the top 30 in the charts but our users voted it as their favourite of the year, just ahead of newcomer
Jack Cooper and that man Morrissey again.
Hundreds of users voted for thsir favourite single and album released by local bands in 2004 - and we've chosen two of you to win a '30 voucher to spend at Fopp Records on Brown Street in Manchester.
The two lucky winners are Laura who voted for Fingathing's single and Duncan who voted for Badly Drawn Boy's album. Congratulations - and thanks to everybody who took part.
