UNSIGNED bands who want to follow in the footsteps of Oasis, Coldplay and The Darkness have until June 28 to send in their demo CDs to In The City

The annual music convention, which this year is based at the new Radisson Edwardian Hotel on Peter Street and takes place from September 17 to 21, has also provided a significant stepping stone in the careers of Muse, Placebo, The Stereophonics and Elastica.

In August, the A&R team will sift through the thousands of demo tapes submitted and announce a list of 50 bands chosen to play at the official ITC Unsigned showcase.

But there will also be fringe events at over 50 more venues throughout the city centre featuring both well-known and new bands.

Bands who are interested in applying should send a three-track demo, a biography and an image to: ITC Unsigned 2004, 8 Brewery Yard, Deva Centre, Trinity Way, Salford, M3 7BB.
