As from Wednesday, branches of the music store up and down the land – including our own Market Street one – will be offering gig-goers the chance to book their tickets over the counter.
And while some of the acts booked to perform at the June 27-29 event may have caused much consternation, there’s no doubt Glasto still the world’s premier outdoor music event.
Fans are invited to head along to HMV from 8am and they only need to provide their name, pay across the counter and make sure that they bring personal photographic ID to the festival when they arrive – thereby ensuring they comply with their anti-touting policy.
On the HMV scheme, organiser Michael Eavis said: “With just a couple of weeks to go, we want to make it as easy as possible for people to buy the last few festival tickets.
“We’ve got a fantastic line-up, the most beautiful site in the country and I’d love to see you all there.”
Glastonbury takes place at Worthy Farm, Somerset over the weekend of June 27-29. The full line-up of more than 1,000 acts is available at www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk

Sounds like a desperate measure. Own goal Eavis? Let's face it; Kings of Leon as headliners? Jay Z? Must try harder......
