IT won’t just be Pete Doherty and We Are Scientists et al who will be on hand at the Academy this weekend.
As running alongside the O2 Wireless Weekender, budding artists will also be given the chance to learn from some of the best in the business, thanks to O2 Undiscovered.
Embrace front man Danny McNamara (pictured) will play a major role at the annual event’s regional workshops – a programme that has evolved to open up careers in the music industry to people throughout the UK.
The Manchester workshops will include expert speakers such as A&R supremo Nick Godwyn from 19 Management, who helped pave Amy Winehouse’s way to the top as well as Agent and Publicist Paul Carey, who has worked with an impressive roaster of musicians including David Bowie, The Who and Shirley Bassey.
In addition to the main talks there will be selected one-to-one sessions where attendees can bring along their music to be professionally A&R’d plus managers and producers will be on hand to offer advice.
O2 Undiscovered takes place at the Academy on Saturday, May 17 from 11am until 3pm. For more information,
