EXCITED fans flocked to the M.E.N. Arena hours before Take That took to the stage.
Women of all ages - and a few men - began milling around Victoria Station from the early afternoon.
The revellers were less hysterical than in the band's 90s heyday, but by 7pm fans were swarming to the venue from far and wide, desperate to see their idols in action.
Stacey Hayes, 30, of Accrington, said: "I was a big fan in the 90s, but never got tickets to see them. Howard Donald is my favourite and I cannot wait to see him on stage."
Megan Brereton, 15, of Oldham, said: "I can remember Take That first time around even though I was only little. I was singing Back for Good as a baby."
Deborah Bradford, 44, of Smithy Bridge, near Rochdale, said: "I'm a new fan and this is a Christmas treat because we have got VIP tickets. I've been waiting since March to see the boys live."
Carolyne Heatherington, 45, from Heywood, near Rochdale, said: "I didn't like them when they were big, but, because of all the hype around their comeback, I became interested and now I'm a dedicated fan.
"By the end of their tour, I'll have seen them three times, plus the cinema gig they did the other night."
Yvonne Madelaine, 45, from Springhead, Oldham, said: "I saw them at City of Manchester Stadium and they were fantastic. I only got into the band in June and now I'm obsessed."
Her son Jamie, nine, said: "I think boys can like Take That as well, although I have only been into the band for the last three days."
Abi Gooding, 18, of Pontefract, said: "Take That were on the first tape I ever had, but I never got to see them live before. I think this is going to be an amazing night."
Kimie Kuchiishi, 34, who came over from Japan with her sister, Manami Kuchiishi, 32, said: "We liked them in the 90s and have flown all the way over from Osaka to see them again."
Take That will play the M.E.N. Arena from Monday, December 10 until Saturday, December 15 (excluding Dec 12) and Monday, December 17 until Sunday, December 23 (excluding Dec 20). £25, £45.

I took my 5 year old daughter to see TT last night. It was like being 15 again!! We had a fantastic time and it was worth every minute of it. They were much better than last year. However, I think my daughter now thinks I am an embarrassing mum!
I saw the lads last year at the Millennium Stadium Cardiff and again last night in Manchester. WOW! I was a huge fan of the boys the first time round, from the age of around eight my walls were covered in their posters, their faces adourned my school books, and my sister had little choice of the music being played on the stereo in our shared room. They split just before I turned 13 and was going to (finally) be deemed old enough by my mum to see them in concert (I had a "Take That" fund jar to save for the ticket in case she changed her mind!) Thank goodness they reformed and allowed me the chance. Twice. And hopefully more??? :) Thanks lads! X
